Shutter Island
Date: Thursday, February 18, 2010
Time: 8:00 p.m.
Location: Ackerman Grand Ballroom (UCLA students only)

It’s 1954, and up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston’s Shutter Island Ashecliffe Hospital. He’s been pushing for an assignment on the island for personal reasons, but before long he wonders whether he hasn’t been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister. Teddy’s shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals “escape” in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues multiply, Teddy begins to doubt everything—his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.

The list already filled up….will more spots open up or will there be a stand by line?

While we don’t have plans to open up more spots, definitely follow us on Twitter for the most up-to-the-minute updates. Arrive early to the screening to get in the stand-by line–once it hits 7:30 p.m., all reservations are void and it will be first-come, first-serve!

  5. uclastudent says:

Wait, when were we able to reserve tickets? Usually it’s a day or two before the screening. What is this, a screening reserved for CEC friends and relatives or something? This is bullshit.

  6. UCLA Student says:

What time do you start handing out the wristbands–7 or 7:30pm?

  7. CEC_ONLINE says:

uclastudent–Actually, CEC staffers are not allowed to use the My.UCLA event reservation system. Reservations became available Tuesday afternoon and filled up almost immediately!

    UCLA Student–It varies, but typically around 7:30 p.m. :)
